Trevor Harling (consultant) possessed the technical expertise to identify the causes of a long standing problem with a damp wall, ceiling and chimney stack. He then provided a detailed specification for a solution.
Wayne Mousley and a team promptly carried out the necessary work to the highest standards. This work was characterised by the clean working environment, care for the rest of house, and a high level of craftsmanship. I found them all to be very pleasant and helpful.

I am writing to thank you for your advice when you came round to inspect the above property on 9 April 2013. You recommended that I contact Sovereign for a floor plan of which walls had actually been treated by a damp proof course. I did so and it turned out that all walls had been treated with a dpc and that the external wall in the front room had been tanked.
Therefore, I wrote to Sovereign (as Brian Hogg is now retired) and made a claim under the guarantee. I paid £240 for a survey to be carried out of the walls and skirting boards which was done 3 weeks ago. I have since been notified by Sovereign that they accept that there is a claim under the guarantee due to initial faulty installation work and that the £240 will be refunded.
Consequently, I am getting the work carried out FOC. I would just like to thank you once again for your honesty and sound advice and would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Colne Valley Preservations.

Colne Valley Preservations recently carried out extensive dry rot treatment and plasterwork repairs at the home of my 90 year-old Mother following a burst pipe under her bedroom floor. They were very prompt and extremely courteous throughout, helping her through a very stressful time. The standard of work carried out by Wayne and his team was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very tidy and cleaned up thoroughly after each day and their price was very competitive. Throughout the work Wayne always kept in touch with me and always did what he said he would do - that’s perhaps one of the most important aspects that people should take into account when selecting a contractor - no waiting around for contractors that don’t turn up. I recently engaged Colne Valley Preservations to put in a damp proof course and re plaster the walls in my house.
I was fully satisfied with all aspects of there work.
Wayne explained clearley and fully the procedures involved in the work to be done he negotiated a timetable for undertaking the work and kept to his timetable meticulously. All work was done competently and with minimal disruption, all rubbish removed and the house was left clean and tidy at the end of each days work. The price quoted was very competitive compared to other companies that I contacted. the finished work is professional and fully guaranteed.

Colne Valley Preservations have recently completed the following work to our cottage: removing plaster from damp affected wall in the lounge, installing a damp proof course, installing a dry wall system and re-plastering the wall. They also installed a positive Ventilation System in the loft. From our very first contact with Wayne Mousley, his family and associates we have had at each stage of the work has clearly explained to us and have met with courtesy and helpfulness. Each day the team treated our property with care covering all possible areas with cloths to keep dust to an acceptable level - a difficult task in a small open plan cottage. The work was carried out in only three days and to a high standard and we are already feeling the benefits after only a few days. No wonder this firm was recommended to us by neighbours. After receiving the Home Buyers Survey report, we were advised to have an inspection by a PCA registered contactor, as there was evidence of damp with the cavity walls. Our bank informed us that this inspection would have to be carried out before the mortgage could be released and by a PCA registered company to ensure quality and insurance. We searched the local area for a PCA registered contractor to do the work. We came across Colne Valley Preservations who arranged to have a look at the property the same day. After receiving the report from the vendor instructed Colne Valley Preservations to carry out the work. Both the vendor of the property and I have been impressed with the quality of work and proffessionalism they upheld. The work was done with little disruption and quickly. May I recommend Colne Valley Preservations to carry out any rising damp problems you may have. I enquired to three companies and found Colne Valley Preservations was much more professional than the other two. Everything was explained to me with no sales pressure. No money was asked for untill the work was completed. When the work was started carpets that could not be removed were covered over. All dirt and rubbish was removed as work was progressing. The end result was 100% satisfactory: I may add that Colne Valley Preservations was the most expensive but I could tell I would get a better job done.
I had a condensation problem in the bedroom, and contacted Wayne's company, right from the first point of contact I found them to actually return calls when they said they would and to keep all times and dates set, which in this day and age is in itself is a recommendation and a pleasent suprise. He surveyed the problem and suggested a solution, which comprised the fitting of a pacifyer vent in the walland a trickle vent into the window, all work was carried out with the minimum of fuss and mess, He then cleaned a affected walls and treated them with fungicide. I was then given advise about re-decorating and he even supplied me with antifungal solution for the wallpaper paste, and a spray to clean around the window frame where the mould gathers. I found him to be extrememly courteous, helpfull, and above all knowledgeable about all aspects of damp proofing, so if you have a problem with any type of damp I would strongly recommend you contact Wayne, you will not be disappointed.
